FOUNDER
Rev. Eyesha K. Marable holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Spanish, a Master of Science Degree in Non-Profit Management and a Post-Graduate Certification in Organizational Development. This year, she celebrates 23 years committed to the ministry of dance. She was the 2011 Worship Arts Scholarship Intern at Drew Theological Seminary and was invited to serve as an adjunct professor in the Masters of Arts in Ministry Program. She recently completed her course work for the Master of Divinity program, Drew University, NJ, and was ordained Itinerate Elder in the First Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC). She currently serves as the Coordinator of Dance for the First Episcopal District of the AMEC, under the leadership of Bishop Gregory Ingrams and Episcopal Supervisor, Rev. Dr. Jessica Ingram.
For her local church, she serves as an associate minister at the Greater Allen Cathedral of New York (GACNY), under the leadership of Rev. Drs. Floyd H. and Elaine M. Flake. She served on the leadership team of the Allen Liturgical Dance Ministry for 11 years and has co-chaired their bi-annual dance conference since its inception in 1998, for more than 500 dance ministers from around the world. For the church universal, she founded the National Liturgical Dance Network (NLDN) in 1998, which trains, supports and unifies dance ministers in 29 states, the Caribbean islands and five countries. She has choreographed a myriad of dances for churches and Christian and non-profit organizations throughout the country combining various dance styles including Modern, Ballet, and West African. She collaborates with dance associations, denominational leaders, ministerial alliances and non-profit organizations to coordinate choreographic, missions, and fundraising initiatives. She currently has annual projects with the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Liberty National Basketball team, the American Heart Association, the National Baptist Conference and the NAACP. For the world, Rev. Eyesha toured locally and nationally as a principal dancer with Footprints Dance Company and Forces of Nature Dance Company where she has performed in Central Park’s Midsummer Night Festival, Avery Fisher Hall, Symphony Space, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Symphony Hall, and Lincoln center. She was a featured McDonald’s Gospel Fest and Apollo Showtime dancer for two seasons and is still seen in La Var Burton’s Mufaro Daughters Reading Rainbow PBS Series. She attended La Guardia High School for the Performing Arts and worked with notable choreographers like Abdel Salaam, Kevin Jeff, Chuck Davis, Fred Benjamin and George Faison. Her dance training led her to stages with LL Cool J, R. Kelly, Ya Kid K; Gospel arts like Donnie McClurkin, Byron Cage, Donald Lawrence, Donald Malloy, and Helen Baylor. She is the proud wife of the Honourable Edward Marable, Jr., Esq., Councilman, Southward, Orange, NJ, and mother of Judah and Honor. The entire family ministers in dance. |
