Director of Leadership Development
Ca-Asia Lane is an academic scholar, author and a liturgical dance and movement leader in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC metropolitan region. As an academic, she develops daily leadership nuggets to provoke change in the dialogue centered around leadership development. As a biblical researcher, she uses dance and leadership to disrupt the social norms of leadership roles within the culture of dance ministry. In addition, her passion is to help others identify with the uniqueness of dance and communicate such expressions of love through creative worship.
Ca-Asia is a retired U.S. Army Commissioned Military Police Officer with nearly 20+ years of active duty military service. Among the many military assignments, Ca-Asia has served as a Military Strategist, Operations Officer, Executive Officer and Defense Congressional Fellow, serving in the Office of the late Congressman Elijah Cummings. Her most rewarding assignment has been company commander, where she deployed a combat Military Police Company in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Since the suicide loss of her husband, Ca-Asia's personal journey and advocacy is one of help, healing and hope.
Ca-Asia currently serves as the Director for the Veterans Health Legislative Affairs, Office of Congressional & Legislative Affairs. She supervises congressional, legislative and strategic planning for the Veterans Health Administration, and leads a team that covers portfolios such as, Women and Minority Veterans Healthcare, Homelessness, Behavioral/Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Substance Abuse, to name a few.
Ca-Asia is a graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA; Old Dominion University; Georgetown University and is currently in PhD dissertation phase at Regent University. Ca-Asia is the author of numerous books to include, Free to Dance, A Suicide Survivor’s Memoir, Changing the Dance, Leadership Nuggets for Dance Ministry Leaders and Christian Leaders as Artists a Three-Ring Cord of Creativity, Imagination and Innovation. Ca-Asia is a 2020 Tedx VA Alum.
